Religion - study for tomorrow's test (They need to know review assignment I gave them back - both sides. We went over it to make sure they had the correct answers. They also need to know the vocabulary word grace under faith word. page 87, and We Believe on p. 89.)

Remember the math test is this Friday. It will be very similiar to the review with different problems. The students need to have the place names memorized and know the place's proper position.

Assignments and news for October 12, 2009
Math - worksheet (both sides) on line graphing
Science - discussed genes - recessive and dominant
Lit - finished discussion of main idea, topic sentence, and supporting details
Religion - study for tomorrow's test (they have study guide)
Spelling - p. 29 (due Wednesday)
There is a math test on Friday. The test is on adding and subtracting whole numbers and decimals including estimating the answer. It will also include place value and graphs - picto, bar, and line. On Wednesday, the students will have a review assignment which we will go over on Thursday. The test will very much like this review. The directions will be the same with different problems. They will need to have the place names memorized in order.
We are currently studying genetics in science. We are on section 2 of the three sections on this chapter. I am not sure of the timing yet but there will be a test after the third section. The earliest that would be is Friday, October 23 but it may be moved back depending on what is accomplished each day in class.
For the students in my homeroom, the book report pages are due Wednesday, October 28. That will give me time to email you the amount of pages your child has done of the 400 required. If your child does not have all of his/her pages in, they will have until November 6 to get them in. (November 6 is the final deadline to turn them in.)

Next week we will have a religion test (Tuesday, Oct. 13) and Math test (exact date to be determined). The students will have a study guide for religion as of Friday of this week. For math the students will need to have the place names and locations memorized. (They have this on a handout that they have been using for assignments.)
Example: 123,456,789
The 3 is in the millions place.
For decimals, they will need to know tenths, hundredths, and thousandths.
