There is a religion test on Friday, November 6, on chapter 8. The students were given a 3 x 5 index card. They may go through the chapter and write anything on it that they feel they may need for the test. They may only write on one side of the card. On Friday, they may use it when taking the test. It will require some preparation on their parts since we will not take religion class time to do the card. If they choose not to do the card, they will just take the test as usual. There is a math test on Friday. The test is on adding and subtracting whole numbers and decimals including estimating the answer. It will also include place value and graphs - picto, bar, and line. On Wednesday, the students will have a review assignment which we will go over on Thursday. The test will very much like this review. The directions will be the same with different problems. They will need to have the place names memorized in order.

We are currently studying genetics in science. We are on section 2 of the three sections on this chapter. I am not sure of the timing yet but there will be a test after the third section. The earliest that would be is Friday, October 23 but it may be moved back depending on what is accomplished each day in class.

For the students in my homeroom, the book report pages are due Wednesday, October 28. That will give me time to email you the amount of pages your child has done of the 400 required. If your child does not have all of his/her pages in, they will have until November 6 to get them in. (November 6 is the final deadline to turn them in.)

For math the students will need to have the place names and locations memorized. (They have this on a handout that they have been using for assignments.)

For decimals, they will need to know tenths, hundredths, and thousandths.
